Thanks Philip and Alexey. And it is just as easy as putting some diskimage on an usb stick and this device wil recognize it as it would be a normal diskette?

Yes, it's a very nice device. Works with multiple vintage systems and disk images. Highly recommended! And the FlashFloppy firmware is free unlike the HxC one.

Just don't install the 0.9.8a firmware - it's buggy.

It does need a jumper to flash it, however there is nowhere to put the jumper Smile
Therefore one need to solder a header or a wire on it. See the programming manual.

I could not disassemble the case, so I just used method 2 with a USB cable and 2 loose wires on the pinholes. Worked like a charm. But to download the STSW software you need to enter your e-mail address, that I disliked. Her'es the direct link:

Do you need to twist some wires on the floppy cable for connecting the gotek to an MSX?
Or do you just need a normal FDD cable?

Thanks

@Argon: No you can use a normal floppy cable without a twist in it

Keirf is looking into the problem with firmware 0.9.8a, see https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/issues/53.

I checked out his test firmware ff_53_1 and that works fine on my MSX.
