Hi everyone,

This post is about me looking for a working NMS 1160 keyboard for the Philips Music Module (MSX2). Have been for a while now.

To be clear I already have the Philips Music Module, I am just looking for a compatible keyboard. Want to use it as a source of sound.

Do you have one, or know where to find one, please advise. Thanks in advance.

Regards, René

I have several spare keyboards here, but I think they are the Toshiba ones. Although, I think they can be modified for Philips. Interested?

Never tried it but I know that Moonblaster can work with this configuration. You use your MIDI keyboard as a input device for your Music Module. So you can't use MIDI in Moonblaster. Only play the Music Module through your MIDI keyboard. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Hmmm, just sold it last month, so i guess i can't check it. But i can't recall having a standard MIDI connection on the MM?

You are right. That works. With the Philips Music Module only...
It's only possible to use the keyboard in the sound menu to play around a bit. (press F3 to toggle MSX/NMS1160/MIDI).
Frustrating that MBWAVE has a bug when trying to use a MIDI keyboard.

By the way, the NMS1160 plays horrible.

MIDI Keyboard works fine with MM.
Not with the internal software, i think, but it works perfectly with Moonblaster and MSXSynth.
