With a game MSX-MUSIC (Fm-Pac) and compatible MSX-AUDIO (Music Module) as Goolvellius 2 for example, the behavior suggests that:

1) The BIOS disables the FM-PAC.
2) The game starts MSX-AUDIO mode.
3) The Songs and Music batteries out of the module.
4) The battery only is played by Moon Sound (OPL3/OPL4).

Shame that the melody does so not by the Moon Sound!

@ Sd_snatcher: This is normal or I made an error?

I'm not sure I understood what you want to ask, but that's my best guess:

1) The priority for detecting/selecting a soundchip on Compile games is: MSX-Audio, MSX-Music, PSG.

2) Are you trying to use a MoonSound at the same time as your NMS-1205?! That's not supported. And the Moonsound requires the specific OPL3/OPL4 BIOS installed to work.

Sorry I translated with google.

1) Slot 1 => I use the [Msx Bios OPL3/4 stéréo Audio 1.3] in Music Module.
2) Slot 2 => I plug the Moon Sound.
3) Golvelius on Disk starts.

Melody and drum out the Music Module.
The drum on Moonsound without melody.

I have not changed the Moonsound. I just wrote your [audio Msx Bios 1.3] in Music Module on the 27C512.

A clarification, I do not know if this is the google translation which understand anything, but ....

With the following games, melody and Drum Music out in the module and also Moonsound. This is not normal?
- Penguin Kun Wars 2
- Lubeck
- Sardine Sea
- Gladius

Mine didn't start up at first, but I found that my red wire had come loose.

It works brilliantly now, however, not all games are supported by the new Bios as they access the Y8950 directly.

Check all connections with a multimeter to make sure they're all ok, thats what I did.

Then try the games I mentioned, nobody's come back with more compatible games yet oO

igal, you're making a sound Mayonnaise! (no offense, just kidding) Smile

You can't use both the Music-Module and the MoonSound at the same time, because the BIOS don't support this configuration. Choose one or another. The Music Module can only be used with the msxaudio13.NMS-1205.rom file. And the MoonSound can only be used with the msxaudio13.OPL3_xxxx.rom files, and you cannot use the Music Module to host it.

I understand what you're trying to reach, but the problem is that nobody designed an upgrade board for installing the BIOS on the Moonsound yet. It could be great if someone did it, and preferably with a user-upgradable design (could be a SuperCap backed SRAM, like the Harukaze). I can help with tips for the design if someone is interested on creating such upgrade board.

Hi Sd_Snatcher. (My english without Google Translation lol)

I find this solution for work with the [MSX-AUDIO OPL3/4 Stéréo BIOS] without modification hardware of MoonSound.
Just write the [BIOS OPL3/4 Stéréo] in the Music Module, and connect the MOON SOUND in other Slot.

I understand your explanations, for the bios [MSX-AUDIO NMS1205] on Music Module. Only my combination it's a good alternative for listen all music [MSX-MUSIC] in stéréo on Moon Sound Wink

It's Frankeinshtein solution, only, it's work perfectly with Stéréo Sound exit by MOON SOUND lol

My question it's Other....
Gollvelious 2 work with MSX-AUDIO Music because the game not found the MSX-MUSIC. => Ok, I understand this.
Can you find a solution for playing the [MSX-AUDIO] music on MOON SOUND? (like the MSX-MUSIC)
For the moment with my combination, only the [DRUM] of [MSX-AUDIO] music exite in stéréo by MOON SOUND.

thank you.

Here is the report of a music OPLL (FM-PAC) released by the OPL3 / 4 (MOON SOUND)
http://igalsirour.hautetfort.com/media/01/00/1435818825.mp3
The record is in stereo output miniJack Moonsound.

Here is the same music OPLL (FM-PAC) by situating the OPL (MUSIC MODULE).
http://igalsirour.hautetfort.com/media/02/01/3523649017.mp3
The record is in Monophonic Cinch Output Music Module.

and now Music Module and Moon Sound together:

A very good Mayonnaise ^^)

Note that a single BIOS is used namely [MSX-AUDIO BIOS 1.3 Stereo OPL3 / 4] and that it is injected into the MUSIC MODULE in place of the MOON SOUND which would require hardware changes I do not know not.

Ps: This music it's in DANTE2 Music no 21 ;)
