Check the Wiki (the Wavy names are indicated): https://www.msx.org/wiki/Category%3ASanyo

All MSX1 games can be played on MSX2. You need sometimes to free more memory by booting with CTRL or SHIFT pressed down. In a few cases, it's required to use the so-called 'universal poke' to allow the computer to find the RAM in a (sub-)slot.

Thank you so much! How hard is it to find this model Sanyo MPC-2300 and how expensive is it?

MPC-2300 was not sold in shops and could only be used in some schools or administrations of Soviet Union. So, it's very difficult to find it on Russian websites. No any idea for the price. https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sanyo_MPC-2300

The same for the MPC-2500FD https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sanyo_MPC-2500FD

What do you recommend then for a good gaming MSX 2 computer that looks as sexy as that wavy Sanyo one?

For the design, you have the Japanese machine https://www.msx.org/wiki/Sanyo_PHC-23J on which the MPC-2300 is based. It's indeed the same design as some MSX1 Sanyo computers.

Sanyo has always had a very appealing and unique design in their MSX product line.

That particular model does not have a disk drive, which may be uncomfortable in some situations... Good luck searching for it on eBay or perhaps someone here on the forums is willing to sell one.

I know! That is what I want Big smile I want to use one of the cartridge slot to have an external disk drive hehe! I have always fantasized to use a cartridge with an IDE cable or some such that goes to an external disk drive (with its own power supply)!! That IS EXACTLY what I wanted!! Now I can have fun picking and choosing a disk drive model with it's own cons and pros and style hehe

Just finding it in eBay might be hard. So I have to keep my eyes open!

The sad thing in MSX world today is that searching for something is a bit hard and prices are high. Sometimes rare hardware, or hardware you search for pops up on ebay (or any other place), but it's hardly ever at the same time you're looking for it. Hunting for one particular item can make you have to wait long (months to years). So have a (few) back-up ideas, or second best models if you like.
