Well, I've played with it for an hour or so. It also contains a nice demonstration if you don't do anything.

Admitted: it is a little bit slow here and there. Still, a nice MSX2 program. Also features horizontal and vertical scrolling Smile

Deep links are not allowed... how did you navigate there?

Sorry, I don't do this on purpose... Posting a link is so natural action to me that I just do it without thinking. (I've filled in moderator allert)
Go to manuals and guides and search for "t550"

Good to see this threat revived. I still have to manage to get my XV-T550 to enable its screen when booting with a cartridge in its slot...

I think he wanted the .ROM, not the manual.
It can be found here: https://hansotten.file-hunter.com/manuals-and-guides/ and just search for T550 or just follow the first column untill you reach "SONY" :) It's in alphabetical order.

That process is also explained on the first page.

NYYRIKKI, did you find out in detail how the mapper works?

Yes, I have explained it in the first post. See SLOT 3-1
If you just think it as Konami4 mapper with 128 pages then you are very close.

That dump is only 64kB... how does this match with 128 pages of 8kB?

So, I think there are two interesting things:
1. Run that Sony XV-T550 software on an MSX with superimpose. Should be possible, although might be tough
2. Turn that Sony XV-T550 into an MSX with superimpose, like the HB-G900P Smile Apparently Zett tried to put a 8245 ROM in it... can you tell us more?

Well, that was not accurate explanation, that was a "shortcut"... but indeed if the ROM was only 64KB then there is now one bit that does not match the documentation...

Let's see what I wrote:

Quote:

bit 7: 1 = Enable SRAM & Video output *
bit 6: ROM select. 0=Program ROM 1=FONT ROM
bit 5: FONT ROM: hi bit of mapper page. Program ROM: 1=disable memory (#FF)
bit 4: mapper page (not used by program ROM)
bits 0-3 mapper page

If we translate this to 128 page size 8K mapper this means that
Pages 0-15 = Program ROM (16*8K = 128K !!! ...weird) and pages 64-127 are Font ROM (64*8K = 512KB)

Maybe the program ROM was mirrored 4 times (Pages 0-7, 8-15, 16-23 and 24-31) instead of 2 times (Pages 0-15, 16-31)
I don't remember anymore and seems that I have no idea where my original dumps are ATM... I anyway remember that pages 32-63 were empty.

If you have the device now open, maybe you can just dump all of it again... In SAVEROM.COM "slang" ie.:
Select Type: Custom
Switch Address: 4FFF
Save Address: 4000
Block Size: 2000
First Block: 0
Last Block: 7F

Actually I would not be surprised if the superimpose would work out of the box in NMS8280... Since the device is Sony there is a change it works also in G900 series, but I find that less likely.

Yes, you can do that... That was also explained in 1st page. (This is now 3rd time I say this... Should someone take a peek maybe?)
