Since I couldn't find the schematics that had been previously published to the Internet for the Universal Cassette Interface for the SV-318/SV-328, I developed my own.

I haven't thoroughly tested this for stability and I've noticed sometimes you need to record over a tape twice to get a reliable read back, but it's a lot better than not having a tape drive at all (and I haven't been able to find one since acquiring my SV-318 a few weeks ago).

EDIT: It's hard to read, but that is a 5.1V Zener. Let me know if anything else needs explanation/clarification.

(P.S., I hope this isn't too off-topic for an MSX forum -- I realize the SV-318/SV-328 are pre-MSX and not really compliant to the standard, but they are somewhat related and Spectravideo.org seems to be completely down now).

Do you have any more info on this? Photos, loading results, etc?
I want to try it but would like to know more before I order some parts.

Cheers,

I have an original SVI Spectravideo 904 DATA CASSETTE. Would it help you if I make some photos of its inner parts and write ICs' names or numbers written on them so you can buy them and re-make it?
