Hello my friends.

What loader exist for Franky cartridge? I successfully found from a very nice person in Netherlands but I want to know if there is tutorial or similar how I can loading Mark III games. I search but I found not any loader or tutorial how to get to work. Is there someone easily can explain to me how I can get it run as easy as possible? GDX SG-1000 loader should of course being working fine, but for Mark III games is there similar loader available for Franky?

yes, me. first tell me your msx setup (Computer Model,ram,accesories, Franky version NTSC or PAL, etc) ?

Tip: More RAM more games, recommended ram upgrade 1024k

Oh thanks. I have lot of MSX computer but main setup is 1chip MSX (KDL firmware) and also I have Musical Memory Mapper, Megaflashrom 512kB. So RAM is more than enough. I bought Franky recently and not knowing if was PAL or NTSC but if PAL I just make small mod for NTSC so assume NTSC from start. (Sorry my bad English). Hope you might help. Thank you very much!

Some games refuse to run on NTSC franky or run its with some graphics problems that is why i decided to make a small mod (is easy). I have several msx computers too but my actual setup for today is a Sanyo Wavy 70FD with 512K internal ram upgrade (Thanks TABAJARALABS), HXCSD FDD emulator (Thanks LOTHAREK) and SoundIN Cartridge Slot 1 and 2 (Disabled Bad Mixing Hardware and added RCA Connectors for Stereo Speaker Output Using PAN8403 Audio AMP)

I more thank thankful to you. In Japan it is not known much of Franky or similar so for me this was really nice hearing because Mark III/SMS was not so popular here than Europe/US. But I am big fan of Wonderboy and Alex Kidd and playing this games on MSX was dream for me. I really thank you so much.

first: try this DSK image (sonic with FM Music game inside) the loader ask you for just the game name (No Extension .SMS required) and tell me if it is running OK.

Tip: This Loader is specially design for Patched games that mean this SMS file can not be used with SMS Emulators because the internal VDP and Audio calls were modified for Franky VDP and MSX Music and MSX Joy Port #2. This loader is running good on Sanyo Wavy 70FD with 512K RAM Internally Upgraded but this loader can manage External Memory Mappers up to 2048K.
For NO PATCHED games you need to Use Other loader it will be uploaded to my DropBox Account Next Time.

Oh really really thank you!!! Actually yet I did not receive Franky because now I am vacation in Europe so I have not chance of testing it But next week I back Japan and I try directly I get home. If possible you can upload other loader for not patched game? This why I not know if is NTSC or PAL version, but since bought from NL then I suppose it came as PAL.

Originally this Loader was made by Dennis Koller one of the Franky VDP Developers and Denis allow me to modify his version now you can load files up to some less of 2048K this loader modify him self on fly during the loading process is not perfect but a lot of games run fine specially short games between 16k and 32k for games more than 64k this loader make some mistakes confusing some DATA with CALL (IN/OUT) that is why usually big games need to be PATCHED (Fixed by hand with a lot patience and motivation).

PS: This Version of Wonder Boy in Monsterland run fine on my Sanyo Wavy 70FD with 512k Internal Ram Upgrade the only problem is this loader not fix the use of PAUSE button for going to Inventory Menu during the game so that is why some games force us to modify (hacking the game) so we can enjoy SMS games in our beloved MSX.

:P I have confused Wonderboy In Monster Land with Wonderboy in Monster World.

This PATCHED version of Wonderboy in Monster world have the PAUSE Key added (Press SPACE key for Inventory Menu)
For loading you can use FL1024 Loader just replace Sonic.SMS with this file.

alexito: I am so very thankful you helped me because I grewed up with these system and when I hear about Franky I just thought it was so amazing project. I will making report when coming home Japan and tested this with my computers. Without this message forum it was not possible so thank you and thank everyone involve. I am happy so much!!!
