I just bought myself my dream computer since 1985, a really nice 738. I'm going to upgrade it to MSX2 or 2+ - the VRAM/VDP/ROM upgrades look straight-forward, but I'm having a hard time finding RAM upgrades. I want an internal DIY-solution, at least 256Mb. As something like this seems to not exist for the 738 (apart from the mythical Henrik Gilvad modification which isn't documented anywhere) I would probably have to create something myself, so I'm looking for some good, precise documentation on the MSX2 mapper. Does something like this exist?

Wouldn't it be easier to just use a Megaflashrom SCC+ SD cartridge that comes with a 512kb mapper?

I agree, consider a Megaflashrom SCC+ SD or Carnivore cartridge. It is probably better than this big modification for the Memory Mapper.

Yes, that would be easy. But a big part of the fun (for me) is to make something myself Smile But to do that I need to know the memory mapper works, and I'm having a hard time finding precise documentation on it.
