VG8020/40 - print peek(65535) give not really address

Hi guys!

Ok I'm short

On VG8020/00

PRINT PEEK(65535)
 240
Ok

POKE 65535,170
PRINT PEEK(65535)
 170
Ok

On VG8020/40

PRINT PEEK(65535)
 95
Ok

POKE 65535,170
PRINT PEEK(65535)
 85
Ok

On VG8020/40 POKE 65535,240 and 65535,255 go to reset of machine.

Ok.....is it all regular?

Yes, it is. The address 65535 (also known as &HFFFF or simply -1) is reserved for the secondary slot select register. You shouldn't use it to store personal data. Machines like the VG8020/00 don't have expanded slots, so this address work like a regular memory address. The VG8020/40, on the other side, has its main memory in an expanded slot. If you just POKE values around without knowing what you're doing, you're bound to crash your machine since you can select out the MSX work memory.
