Fine ... Although I'm not in agreement but I respect your judgment.

Indeed, MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD 512K works as a normal RAM expansion. FS-A1 has an internal software menu. You need to hold DEL to skip it and avoid problem booting DOS2 / Nextor.

Thank you for confirmation. That seems to be the same problem with the MSX2 Mitsubishi ML-G1. When we add a Memory Mapper We need to press DEL to avoid the booting problem. The internal software does not seem to like the Memory Mapper.

I have a favourite type of MSX computers although I am a Canadian, so there was only the same amount of US-based machines from Spectravideo and Yamaha. I would've suggest that I should add more MSX-based computers for the Canadian, Mexican and the Indian market, I have it on my DeviantArt journal and my Pinterest boards as well.

But despite this, I have a favourite type of MSX-based microcomputers which were the Toshiba HX-10 and the Sony HB-75.

Hello all,
I'm new to msx but I have already a few old computers: zx spectrum, atari xl and atari portfolio...all perfectly working :-)
I was looking to buy an msx2, but seems from Europe there's not much available, most of them I can find online are from japan.
I see some "cheap" FS-A1 ones on ebay but I can see people here don't talk very well about this model and some are even without PSU or floppy...not sure would a good choice but the other models seems are too expensive for me (at least the msx2).
I see there're some affordable Philips 8010 and 8020 but are msx1 and I have a few msx2 titles I'd really like to try on the real hardware....but maybe would be a good start? What do you think about the 8020?
Looks like it has internal power supply and floppy cables right?
According to the your wiki it has internal PSU and standard floyppy cable...should be easy then to plug to a phone with msx2cas right?

The Philips VG 8020 has a build in 220V PSU and a DIN connector for a tape, which you can use for connecting a phone or nay other audio source to load tape images. You can easily connect a MSX floppy drive with a disk interface cartridge. It do not come with floppy cables. Solid build MSX 1 computer.

There is quite a lot available from Europe, check the Marktplaats.nl site, for instance. You should be able to find an MSX2 easily.

I don't know where you got that floppy information, but the 8020 is completely diskless...

MSX1: Toshiba HX-10 (I liked the colour and it played every game I threw at it)
MSX2: Sony HB700 / HB900
MSX2+: My Sony HB700 with 2+, 7Mhz & Fast Disk ROM.
Turbo-R: Technically a nice machine, but overrated due to lack of software.

MSX TR no good on exist ... If you are talking about ST model .. At some point .. I will agree with you because of the design ... But the GT model is unbelievable ... Common .. We are senior gamers here and we have an idea about the history of gaming and computers ... And everybody knows that MSX TR-GT is the best computer if all times.

The best computer of all time? Hmmm... Not really... It's a nice MSX to have, but... nah, let's no go there Smile Or else Wolf will have to make another picture about TFH's preferences...

You probably want to be more accurate. There's quite a difference between a Sony HB-G900P and a Sony HB-G900AP for instance. Or a Sony HB-F900. A newcomer might be buying something he will regret without being more precise...
