Well, the new transformer is in. The transformer's pin 1 is connected to pin 1 on the board (yellow wire), pin 2 is connected to pin 2 on the board (white wire), pin 3 is connected to both pins 3 and 4 on the board (yellow and blue wires). The voltages seem to be stable: +5.02, -12.08, +12.28. The transformer is barely warm after half an hour of testing, so are the DC converter components. The sound cartridge plays without any problem - no humming. So this upgrade is complete.

The toughest part was (again) to remove the old power cable from the cable holder. It took over an hour! The rubber is very dense and to make a proper hole for the new cable without damaging the holder takes a lot of patience.

DISCLAIMER: If you are doing the same upgrade for your MSX2+, you are doing it on your own risk. I am not responsible for any possible damages resulted from this upgrade.

Great! Good job. And did you need to solder in the other components you mentioned before?

Thanks. No, I just changed the transformer like in TurboR ST before. Ran the computer for a few hours with demos and games - no issues. However it may be possible that the computer may have power shortages with some power-hungry hardware in one of the slots. I just don't have too much external MSX hardware to test the mod completely. But with Wozblaster and all our group's (and my own) cartridges everything worked fine.

Great, just finished (eh, almost, waiting for the aluminium plates) my WX and it seems to work fine. Thanks for the instructions Alexey.

I bought a 20mm wide and 100mm long aluminium strip in Bauhaus for 2.5 euro. So I cut the necesary piece and drilled the holes. Cheap and easy.

I also performed this upgrade. 30 minutes testing, still fine Hannibal LOL!
