Hello,

Maybe an idea to open hyperlinks in new tabs?

When i forget to hold the CTRL, then it opens in the same tab, sometimes annoying when comparing.
I think allot of people open up several tabs within the site to compare or to refer, especially with source code.

just my 2 cents Wink

@Wolverine - you mean for internal links? Right now, links to external sites (not msx.org) should open up in new tabs, whereas internal links stay in the current tab. Looking at the average amount of pageviews per session I don't think opening new tabs for each link would be an improvement, usability wise.

Right clicking seems the appropriate (and web-standard) course of action imho. And on touch devices, just keep touching that link a little longer. You know you want to. (eugh).

Sorry for digging up an old thread. It seemed most appropriate named...

Problem: some links don't seem to be processed correctly, example:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_(audio)#TRRS_standards

Problem occurs both with http and https in front of it. Seems like the "(" makes the forum software stumble. Might want to check with ) [ ] { } and perhaps other characters (spaces? internationalized URL's?) that one may encounter in a URL.

Is there any way to get around this when posting? Along the lines of replace "/" with "%2f" or similar method?

Like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_(audio)#TRRS_standards

Or: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_%28audio%29#TR...

Escape the characters MRC doesn’t recognise with %28, etc. (Press the quote button to see the syntax.)

Some dude posted this here recently: msx.org-url-encoder.

Guess it would be useful to set up an MRC (forums) FAQ page in the wiki.
OTOH I wonder if the team have any plans regarding updating the site, and tackle all these (minor) problems/issues at some point?
