According the diagram below the Wavy 77 seems to have MSX-Write in the primary slot 2 (it is not extended) and it can be disabled by switch.

It's weird that Sanyo didn't put MSX-Write in slot 3-1 or 3-2.

If I had this MSX, I would reverse MSX-Write with the cartridge slot B, and I would try to update MSX-Write to the version 2.

Okay that diagram also shows the ROM is disabled directly through OE pin.

About S1985. It seems ASCII updated the design of the printing on the package at some point. The photo on the wiki page shows a different design than the S3527. However the photo of the PHC-77 mainboard as well as the HB-F900 sow a design similar to the S3527. I don’t know if it also was a revised internally.

A while ago a sold MSX gear for a friend of mine. I still have all the pictures. A wiki editor might want to browse around and see if they can find a suitable image.

About the page wiki below some documentations say that accesses are faster when display the screen is disabled, when sprites are disabled or during VBlank. What about in practice? Does anyone has more precise info?

Yes... In theory... I've already mentioned that the VRAM can be accessed "full speed" while VDP is drawing border or the screen output has been disabled. Disabling sprites is pure V99x8 thing and on all modes that display sprites can anyway accessed full speed, so it does not really matter if the sprites are on or off... To internal 2D acceleration this does have an effect, but here I was trying to cover only CPU <-> VRAM traffic. (Maybe that should be more clearly stated?)

There also has been some speculation/rumors that on TMS chip access times could be improved by placing sprites on line 208, but at least I don't have any information about this that would closely enough sound like fact.
