Added screenshots to the MSX-DOS 1 wiki page showing the concatenation bug. The question remains, should we break up the table and use separate entries for these two versions? Or should we leave it as it is?

I think there are too many unknown things to make a full separation. There are so many versions of the VG-8235 and NMS 8245 computers for example, and it's difficult to check the floppy disks of all the versions! Because we can guess that at some point, Philips has replaced the wrong version by the good version.

Before I added it to the page I thought to split the versions. Detail, detail, detail! But I have changed my mind and I'm with you.

Just out of curiosity: do we know if Philips have ever bettered their lives? Even the Ease 1.4 disk (probably one of their last releases with the 8245) has the Hal-F version on it. On the other hand, I can't check whether this is a direct copy of an original disk, it's just a version that I downloaded.

I think there is only one thing left. How to let people easily determine which version they've got. Should I add md5 checksums to the wiki? Should I program a small tool to use in MSX-DOS? Are there any other options?

I think you can suggest to use an hexadecimal editor and to check the end of the file, but of course pure MSX fans would appreciate a MSX-DOS tool. If you add checksums, it's better to use sha1 values (as it's used in openMSX and blueMSX databases).

I have uploaded a small utility to the downloads database. As soon as it's accepted I will put the link on the Wiki page.

It's here. I put it in a download categorie Utilities which turns out to be invisible. Until that's fixed, the link works :)

@Briqnullus: For info: the hidden page of the utilities is here and your file is on this page.

Thanks! Edited the Wiki page. I think this subject is done for now. I'm still on the hunt for other official MSX-DOS versions. I will update the page whenever I feel need to.

I also have collected some clone versions, like SOLX-DOS, Nike-DOS, Kiev-DOS and MSX-DOS by Telematica. I think these can best be listed on a separate page 'MSX-DOS 1 clones', each with a bit of background information if available. Agree?

It seems me a good idea, but add a link on the main MSX-DOS 1 page.

First draft of the MSX-DOS 1 Clones Wiki page has been created. Will add a link to the main MSX-DOS 1 page later.

Also MSX-DOS version 0.26 / 0.12 has been encountered in the wild. Should we consider this an official release with unknown origin? Or is this an 'it has escaped from the lab' version?
