@gdx I am suggesting PDFs are uploaded to archive.org and linked from the msx.org wiki pages.
I think that you will find that most manuals can already be found on archive.org.
I think so too! Would be good if someone did a complete pass to make sure it’s all there and also indexed on the wiki.
Any chance one of the MRC admins can do a search through the wiki page source for links to hansotten.com, and providing a list so they can be fixed?
Unfortunately google only allows to search for the visible parts of a website.
The backup from Archive.org is quite complete I think. However, all php is converted to static html, with hard links to msx.hanshotten.com. I've written a little script that replaces all those with the correct depth relative paths. I've now got a backup that works even from local disk as long as you open index.html manually. Although the layout is a bit botched. Pretty much all of the links work, as well as the pdf's, zips and other downloads. I'll not post it publicly here, I don't want to upset anyone. If you want it, PM me.
To be clear, when I said uploading documents to archive.org, I wasn’t referring to web.archive.org (the Wayback Machine), but to the collection of documents that is also preserved by them in their texts database.
E.g. https://archive.org/details/MsxTurboRTechnicalHandBookOCR.
For the moment the archive Rataplan has made has been made available here: https://hansotten.file-hunter.com/
As soon the archive finds a more suitable place I will remove this copy. But in the meantime the files are available.
Please keep in mind there will be some dead-ends & the lay-out is kinda fooked... But, all should be there.
/edit/
Repaired the lay-out as good as I could.
Thanks tfh!
Thanks tfh!
No problem
I'll keep an eye on my error logs. I've noticed that some files are missing or have incorrect links. I'll monitor this and update the files / html pages where need and if possible. I've already fixed quite some stuff (magazine covers & stuff on the MSX Video Computer Section).
If anyone runs into non-working links, please feel free to let me know and I wills if I can hunt down those files and live up to my nick.
Also, people who are leeching the complete site at the moment will still be missing a lot. They can better wait for a bit untill I've restored as much as possible.

Spoken like a real file hunter . Great job!
I would like to extend a very big "Thank You" to Hans Otten as he was kind enough to provide me with the contents of the uploads & images directories of his archive. I have added these to the mirror on https://hansotten.file-hunter.com/
Since there are still some .html/php files missing (archive.org doesn't archive everything, so there are still some dead ends in my mirror, but... It's way more complete compared to earlier this week.
At this moment hotlinking is prohibited. I'll have a look at a way to make the complete archive available. But it seems that Hans' MSX legacy is not lost.
/edit/
Removed the do-not-list-files from the upload dir.
Please don't make me regret it and use it wisely.
Are all PDF files already on archive.org?
