Well, I woudn't mind doing so Smile I'll try to contact Cas to see if he's OK with that and which games I am allowed to add Smile

I have been able to find the following games:
* Akin
* Vectron
* Magnar
* Black Cyclone
* Blade Lords

Of ARC and Coredump I've only been able to find the promo versions, which is to be expected of course since Coredump was never finished and the copy-protection of ARC.

Why not ask Cas if he's willing to consider putting the games up for download on the Parallax website?

Perhaps he might consider releasing the sources for Core Dump as well? (Other devs might take a stab at it? Wink)

@ren The Core Dump sources were lost in a hard drive crash.

But yeah, it would be real nice if these games would be easily accessible again. That applies to more Sunrise-published games, btw.

I pointed him to this thread as well, so he will probably see your suggestion. I was just following up on the suggestion above and I don't feel I should be the one suggesting them what to do with their creations Smile
As for the Core Dump sources. If my memory serves me right they lost all the sources, but then again... I could be wrong on that matter.

@Grauw: agreed. Speaking of which: Woomb translations... Wink

Just after posting I recalled the lost sources case indeed..

If he has still kept the HDD, I believe it should be perfectly recoverable, as I read it's a matter of the motor that stopped spinning. (Any storage recovery guys in the house? Wink)

I did read there's still a (much) older copy of the sources though.
Anyway, releasing sources is cool (perhaps even of the other games), isn't it? Smile
I'm also not telling what one should do, but, talking about the sources, I figure that at a certain point one could consider releasing them, because: why keep it to yourself, whilst it could be an asset to others / the community.

Yeah, releasing sources is always a great thing.

But regarding “Other devs might take a stab at it”; a lesson I’ve learned is that you should never expect anyone to do anything with it. If it happens, it’s a nice surprise. Especially releasing sources after a project is abandoned seldom leads to much interest, open sourcing while a project is in active development will lead to much easier uptake. I think most people would rather work on their own ideas rather than continuing something someone else was no longer interested in finishing.

But who knows, never know what will happen. Either way, I think that should be kept in the back of one’s mind, to avoid disappointment Smile. With that side note made, don’t let that stop you, sources would be nice to look at!

@Ren,
You could even consider trying to setup some form of database/archive of sources, which can be used by other people to learn from (or "borrow" ideas). You'd have to try to convince people to make these sources available.
No clue in how big the actual interest would be, from both sides...
