Me too I like MSX Vampire Killer more than NES Castlevania. The graphics and gameplay are better.
The scrolling would be appreciable although it is not essential.
The controls in VK suck, you use the same key (up) to jump and climb stairs, and this is annoying when you use stairs.
The patch for JoySNES fixes it and more. A equivalent patch for JoyMega would be welcome.
Hey guys, I just want to share this great castlevania music video
Enjoy.
I love Banjo Ollie, but you have to check this version. This is the one I like most!
ummm
Let's not forget the version by the boy that was found lost in a pile of MSX by a young girl (secretly a princess) and her dog. The princess lived rurally (though nearby a city) on a farm with geese & chickens. She learned the boy many things: climbing trees & rooftops, creating puzzles, taking care of the animals & town's elderly, but also playing the accordion. One day the boy met a nice girl, and started to explore the world around him, including nearby countries. On most of these journeys MSX would travel along: it seemed to be an inextricable part of him. (True story)
And let's not forget this version advantage programmar catlevania with lyrics

Indeed, and there's FRS patch too. And IIRC, the CV patch also fixes the controls. But my point was that the lack of scroll wasn't the only issue in the game.
