Hi,

I was playing with the megaflashrom scc+ sd in openMSX.
It works great but I cannot get Bubble Bobble to run.
I flashed it with opfxsd bubble.rom /a8 then after reset it looks like this:

The rom is from goodmsx and it works fine with openmsx -carta
Anybody has a clue ?

Here it just works... Without the /a8 that is... Dunno which version I have though...

I have checked the ROM from GoodMSX and works fine here with and without the /A8. Tested on a turbo R.

Weird. I must be doing something wrong...
The strange thing is konami roms work fine, both with and without scc.

It does work when I manually patch the rom to use the konami mapper switch addresses instead of the ascii8 ones (6000, 8000, a000 instead of 6ff7, 77f8 and 7ff8). opfxsd even recognises the rom as Konami type without forcing it.
If I flash the original rom without /A8 opfxsd does not recognise the type, it says ROM type: Unknown

Here it's unknown as well... doesn't need to be a bad thing Smile

Did you try it on openMSX or the actual hardware ?

Ok, then it's probably a openmsx bug/user error.
At least I know enough to actually order a real one, can't have such a device without Bubble Bobble Smile
Thanks for testing !

I don't really see a reason to use this device in openMSX as openMSX can load ROMs and DSK files by default. openMSX handles DSK files even better than megaflashromscc+sd.

I confirm there are some ROMs that work well on real MFRSCC+ hardware and not on openMSX. The MFRSCC+ emulation is probably not 100% accurate.

I'm using that to test my SofaRun stuff, it's quite useful !
