Which MSX midi interface is supported? iirc only the turbo R one... Might be extended to more by now though.
What would happen if you run Illusion City?

I don’t get that error when I plug in Virtual In and Easy MIDI (MIDI keyboard from the app store) to either MSX-MIDI or Philips NMS-1205. Iirc the Yamaha SFG MIDI is also supported. I’m using MacOS Catalina 10.15.1, with an openMSX build of the current git master that I’ve built myself. I’ve also used external MIDI hardware in the past without issues.

The file not found error when plugging in the midi-in-reader is normal, since you first need to specify which file it should read from with another command.

Ok thanks. I will try. I was wondering if it worked at all.

Hi, I just tried OpenMSX with MIDI on Windows and I got it working, however, the sound is distorted and notes aren't played back as it should. Maybe other people can try as well.

Config: OpenMSX 0.15 for Windows, MSX turbo R FS-A1GT configuration, using SAWP MIDI player, download from here
As software synthesizer I'm using VirtualMIDISynth with Roland SC-88 soundfont
As virtual MIDI-out cable you can use LoopMIDI

And finally some Konami MIDI files to test.

Someone got it working with correct playback on Windows?

The crash is of course definitely a bug... Now how to reproduce it...
