I am finally on the OpenMSX bandwagon and trying to get MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD up and running using this guide:

executing the bat file to flash, the process hangs at the first step:

opfxsd nextor20.rom /I

This process hangs after

Loading .................

I am probably doing something wrong, any tips and pointers are welcome

I think nowadays if the appropriate ROM is placed in share/systemroms/extensions, openMSX will automatically populate the FlashROM with it if it hasn’t before. It’s included in the systemroms package which I recommend you use. If you’ve flashed before, you will want to delete the persistent/MegaFlashROM_SCC+_SD directory for it to work.

can it just be that when you flash Nextor to device using Nextor it just hangs up because overwriting thing in use is not good at all? maybe you have to add another disk device, boot with key pressed to disable Nextor in MFR and only then to flash it? I believe you'll get the same behaviour on real computer, because in the manual ut says:

OPFXSD nextor.rom /I:
Install SD kernel. Needed to use the SD interface.
Note: this process must be done using another storage device different from the SD reader in the cartridge. You can also use RECOVERY mode to install the kernel.

BTW if you do exactly what's in this tutorial (didn't have a look at it) - then maybe tutorial should be fixed Wink

Please let us know if you need any assistance. Will be happy to help, where needed!

The basic idea should be: how do I do this on a real MSX? And then you just need to know how to perform that equivalent action via the emulation controls.
