Hi All,

I've observed the following situation with OpenMSX on a MBP. When I run OpenMSX on an external display (1920x1080) it runs great. When I run the same OpenMSX on the mac's Retina display it starts to crawl. It seems to be related to the Retina display resolution. Scalefactor 1x (looks very small) and performance is good, like 100% is about the speed of a normal MSX). Scalefactor 2, everything goes slow (music breaks at 100% speed, MSX 2 bootlogo takes 30 seconds ). Putting MSX at 300% normal speed it stays slow. Scalefactor 3 everything stops. I changed the scaler (TV/HQ, etc) but that did not make any difference.

I'm not sure how I can help debugging this issue.
Cheers

Which openMSX version are you using?

If you're using 0.15.0, can you try the latest development build from http://openmsx.dev/ ?

Its 0.15.0. I tried the latest build from openmsx.dev and this one does not have the delay. Thanks!

That's strange, i use a 2017 model imac retina, but never had any (performance) complaints using openMSX

I run OpenMSX on MacOS Catalina on MBP2018 with Retina and it’s very fast. No issues here.
