Ok the SVI 738+707+727 boots with CP/M .
As i assumed it loads Wordstar from disk of an svi 605b.
The 328 plus an SVI 605 has the option to start SV extended Disk basic or CP/M
The 601 has this option too.
How do you do that with OpenMSX?
As I said, if you run the Spectravideo_SVI-328_superexpanded machine, you get some extras including the floppy disk controller/drive.
I am an purist I use real H.W.

Yes, you said that, but I am a beginner and could not find the correct command line to boot SVI-328 to CP/M. This command does not work:
openmsx -machine Spectravideo_SVI-328_superexpanded -diska CP224R13.dmk
I suppose I need to specify -ext and some disk drive, but how?

The disk drive is already included in the SuperExpanded config, it basically (to my understanding) has a SVI-605 Super Expander included.
As to how you use a disk drive, or boot from one on a SVI-3x8, I have no idea.
I did run into this forum thread, which may be useful: https://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/emulation/svi-3x8-cassett...

As rderooy said, you don't need anything else.
I think that what you do need is the right disk image. Perhaps the floppy drive in the expander doesn't like the format of the 707 CP/M disks to boot from. I got some other disks for it. What I got to work is DiskBasic40ss.dsk, converted to DMK by svi2dmk. I haven't actually tried the CP/M disks, not sure what format they are in.

I see. So this experiment shows that the expander does not 707 format. I really misnamed the POSIX cpmtools disk definition. It must be called ”svi707”. Hopefully the author has not releases v2.21 yet. I will contact him in the morning.
According to http://www.samdal.com/svperipherals.htm there were several disk drive options for the SVI-3x8 systems;
SV-605A Super Expander (4 slots, two 160KB 5.25" single-sided, 40 tracks, centronics)
SV-605B Super Expander (4 slots, two 320KB 5.25" double-sided, 40 tracks, centronics)
SV-605B Super Expander (4 slots, 10MB harddrive, 5.25" DS 40 tracks, centronics)
SV-801 Floppy Controller cartridge
SV-902 External floppy drive (5.25", single-sided, 40 tracks)
SV-905 Diskdrive for SV-605 (5.25", single-sided, 40 tracks)
SV-912 External floppy drive (320KB 5.25", single-sided, 80 tracks)
Looking at the openmsx machine config, I cannot see if it emulates the 605A or 605B Super Expander. I would hope the 605B. The SV-605B and the SV-912 seem to use the same number of tracks and sectors as the SVI-707, and the SVI-707 can supposedly read SVI-3x8 disks.
Here it also lists two CP/M editions for the SVI-3x8: http://samdal.com/svsoftware.htm
Spectravideo CP/M-80 version 2.24 for the SVI-328 with double sided diskdrive (SVI-605B).
Spectravideo CP/M-80 version 2.22 for the SVI-328 with single sided diskdrive.
My understanding, to load Disk Basic on a SVI-3x8, you need to load it from disk by having the special Disk Basic disk in the drive when you turn it on. I found a IMD/DSK file for it, and converted it with DiskManip to DMK, but nothing happens when I try to boot with it.
