on it. Do you need pictures, description?
Well all the images look the same but I will attach them anyway. Hope this helps. I tested the A B C and D rom
That's unexpected, when I made the msx-samurai demo there was a different behaviour between emulators (bot openmsx and webmsx) and real hardaware.
What V9990 cartridge did you use? What MSX machine?
Panasonic FSA1-ST With the trh9000. MFR+SD to load the roms.
Can you send me the exact roms you need for testing? maybe I did something wrong.
My bad... I was doing a small mistake and overriding the value of register R#22.
Now I fixed all 4 ROMs, and checked the value of R#22 register with "v9990regs" command on openMSX console.
The new ROMs and source are on github (v.0.41.4): https://github.com/albs-br/msx-tests
Thanks for helping.
Will test again today.
This time the results are quite different. note that the orange block on the 4th photo is red solid in real life so thats a photo artefact.
Just a thought, for completeness you may also want to test if it is possible to change this register mid screen. There are several registers known not to take affect during display period but are only read once at the start of the display period... I suspect this could be one of them.
Did someone also check what this does on openMSX?
On openmsx all 4 roms shows the same screen as Rom A.
Layers A, B and the sprite showing.
