OpenMSX uses more CPU resources that CocoaMSX. Can you improve this?

Try to set the renderer to SDLGL-PP: open the console (Cmd+L) and type: set renderer SDLGL-PP.

EDIT: oh, probably it is already on that.

Are you comparing the same situation? How much is the difference?

Last night I played a bit with mth's build on my iMac with Mavericks on it.
I couldn't find any issues, seems to work fine !

gdx: you could try disabling the Reverse function through your console with: reverse stop

gdx: does that help?

reverse stop changes nothing.

Since version 0.91 OpenMSX seems to take too many resources. When I run Firebird there has a crackling sound in the music. With Meko Lancher the crackles are more important. I tried every setting.

No problem with version 0.90.

About the resources issue: did you look at memory usage, or is it your conclusion based on the crackling sound only?

(Did you try to change the 'samples' setting?)

How does 0.9.1 compare with the versions that FiXato posted?

- File associations aren’t working properly. Clicking in a ROM/DSK files indeed runs openMSX, but the ROM/DSK will not executed inside the emulator automatically as one would expect.

When I try it, it works as expected: I click a ROM file in Finder and openMSX starts with that ROM in the first free cartridge slot.

Note that this only works if openMSX is not running yet; we don't have code yet to handle opening files from Finder when openMSX is already running.

- save_msx_screen should save its files inside the ~/.openMSX/screenshots folder. On 0.8.1 it saved inside ~/.openMSX. In 0.9.1-619-ge97f702 it results in error: couldn’t open “kv22.SC5”: permission denied.

It works fine when I test it: it saves the screenshot as ".openMSX/screenshots/Zanac-Ex 0001.png".

Any idea where that ".SC5" comes from? openMSX screenshots are always PNG files.

We need a key though to assign INSERT to. Maybe the §/± key? Although that key inserts the right symbols in openMSX, I doubt many people will need to type § or ± in MSX programs.

I haven't tested the other two issues you reported (yet).
