Linear RAM adressing, protected memory, more cpu registers
well, uhm, how about just a nice PC then?
damnit, it's a freakin' MSX we're talking about, aaight.
And what if we implement all those new stuff....
Will there be any software that will use them?
I'm afraid that will only lead to a GFX9000 sequal. There are still no real games for it.
I'd rather see some features that will enhance existing software.
(Loading, debugging, sound output, save states, freeze, cheat engine and hardware emulation (laserdisc anyone))
@Ro: You're right

U know USB is perfect. Old joystick will be rare soon. And there is a lot of USB gamepads,keyboards,flashdisks,3"5 fdds,printers...
I got HP PC and I think there is no nice PC out there in the whole world.
Maybe Apple Mac + XP

speaking of which:
- a 4 layer 16 colors per layer 256*192 pattern mode
- a 2 layer 64 colors per layer 256*192 pattern mode
And line interrupts that are as I would expect.
patterns with mirror bits, of course.
and multicolor sprites with multiple sizes, also with mirrorbits.

We're talking MSX3 here, right?
the turbo r scroll commands
And some damn fine veejay program hahaha,
something to alter plasmas, cubes, 3d objects, logos and fancy effects with
a midi controller ^_^. So far only the gameboy advance has a vj tool I guess.
Considering that it has a decent SVHS out, and VGA.
A small LCD screen, so you can carry it around with you. Like a Gameboy.
And these features of the no$msx emulator: skipping the long and boring boot process and skipping disk loading.
oh, that's indeed something: does it have a long slow and boring bootscreen? (msx2 scroll is a bit annoying )
new set beep sounds
