Would this work on the Mist? I just bought one a few days ago and the latest msx mist core wouldn't boot. An older one would boot but most games run at the wrong frame speed and anything over 1gb on the SD card won't load Crying

I would like to report an issue.

Recently I changed boot ROM, which appears in the addresses 4000-403F when machine starts, to boot RAM, meaning that this area now is writable.

I had report that while genuine PC still works with cart, it stopped working with OCM. I checked myself - and it appeared to be true, OCM does not work with cart any more.

After some troubleshooting I found out that first byte of my boot RAM, (4000h) which should be 041h (first byte of "AB" signature) is having zero instead, thus some process overwritten this byte during initialization.

I have some KdL not-so-old firmware, and I am sure that person reported the issue to me should have recent one.

Please investigate and advise on the issue. Thank you.

That would be an external cartridge with battery-backed RAM? Question

MSX2+ (and thus OCM with updated firmware) does a destructive RAM search after a hard reset. So it would write at least somewhere in memory which contains RAM. Would "genuine PC" equal an MSX2 here by any chance?

Disgusting approach of MSX2+ firmware developers not respecting user contents. And there's a life beyond the reset!

I developed writable content which is to be executed on startup, but did not expect destructive access. Now I have protected all critical parts of the page, leaving OPLL registers writable only at address 4040h.

¿Has anyone tried to execute msx mania dsk on the mist core? Msx Mania DSKs says to press CTRL while booting to disable the secondary disk, i don't know how to do this on the mist core.

I'm not using the latest core on my mist, the latest says disk A: not ready...

thank you!

@KdL Do you intend to implement SDHC support on next release?
