What this H.A.K.TAPE/TESTTAPE cassette actually does? Tests joystick ports? Tongue Or does some ROM diagnosis?

It's for adjusting the head of your cassette player.

Okay, so it was just with alternate name. Smile

So, with this tape, I could make sure my cassette games will load correctly! But what if this test tape won´t load? Tongue

Then you know you have to adjust the head of your cassette player. So this tape works great and everyone should have one!

Yeah, that´s what I meant. Smile I am a poor soul who have lived all these years only with little screw-driver. And survived. Tongue

Wouldn't the exact same result be achieved if you have an original game that you know is not damaged and you put that in the cassette player?
If it doesn't load, then you must adjust the head.

In the old days, I connected a speaker to the cassette output so that I could hear how good the signal was. It ate some of the output volume though so I had to switch it off sometimes with bad tapes.

But it worked great... and I never had to use Aackosoft's tape.

On another topic: Just spoke with Ronald Van Der Putten on Facebook. Kinda cool.

The manual actually goes into this situation.... see the info on GenMSX. The other tape contains test signals to further improve the alignment.

and... what if the half of the games that you has was recorded with a misaligned head......

I remember that times.....

every brand / houses records the games with a different alignment...

so, it is useless to align it with a *standard pattern*.
