Hi!

Back in the 80's I used to play some games on the MSX.
I played a game of which I don't know the name (anymore).
It was a game in which you had some main screen in which you moved the player in buildings. In these buildings 'ladder game' screens were shown in which items could be collected.

Hopefully someone knows the name of this game!

Could also be puzzle-type games: "The Castle", for instance.
Give us more detail, please.
I'm interested in solving this "memory"-type quiz Smile

there were many "rooms" - e.g. you can exit a screen by going right or left most and an other scheme of ladders appears ?

What did the guy looked like : blue red white ?

there was enemies ? what were weapons ? background was black or something ? what was the main color ?

Reminds me of The Heist. Although the description is as vague that it could be dozens of games.

"Ladder game" makes me think of Lode Runner, or King's Valley (2), but please... more details? Scrolling step-wise, or from screen -> next screen? Horizontally, vertically scrolling? Both? Or: complete 1 screen, restart on next screen? What was the goal of the game? Original came on tape, disk, cartridge?

It could be Elevator action. At the end, there are some ladders

If I understand it right, msxplayer is talking about:
- game that has some main screen. If I get it right, "main screen" means not the game itself, but the screen at which the player can select the building to play in. Kind of level selector thing. Am I right ?

- "In these buildings 'ladder game' screens were shown in which items could be collected"
I believe he is talking about the same level selector here. Each building is probably presented with some small picture that shows which items you can collect in this level.
And maybe buildings in this selectable map of levels are connected to each other with ladders.

Does it make sense ?

I'd say LODE RUNNER. It's THE ladder game!

Making it easier for msxplayer:

www.generation-msx.nl/image.php?filename=576.gif&type=screenshot&imagetype=game&thumb=1
The Heist

www.generation-msx.nl/image.php?filename=404.gif&type=screenshot&imagetype=game&thumb=1
Elevator Action

And what is my guess as well:

Lode Runner

or:
