There is only me for the graphics.

I need a coder and a musician.

I hope to find them soon.

The great Hans Cnossen, a.k.a. "Kid Cnoz" once made an SCC version of a Turrican song.
IIRC it's either on one of the Sunrise or the MSX-Engine/Genic disks.

Yeah, the TURRICAN TEAM:

ToniGalvez graphics adaptation.

ARTRAG for the code conversion.

We can improve the game in that way:

+Change the Turrican caracter tiles on Sprites using 4 sprites, the caracter may look more like the 16 bit versions.
+Using Set Adjust for the scroll.
+Extracting the caracter set of every map and redrawing on screen4.

Artrag, tell me something about this.

Ehhh... what about a conversion using the hardware scrolling on 2+ and Moonsound instead of SCC. The Turrican music was so great because of the samples. You could make REALLY nice arrangements on our beloved Moonsound.

and just brainstorming a bit more... Why not use the GFX9000! You can use the Amiga graphics without any alterations and the scrolling etc. is even better than on 2+. You can even make new backgrounds which are scrolling multi layer. With some effort you could make a version that is even better than the Amiga version... And wasn't that our ultimate childhood dream? To piss off Amiga users Tongue

Using MSX2+ hardware scrolling is only beneficial for using two sprites extra (the ones you'd use for masking borders on MSX2). Turrican uses such extremely fast horizontal scrolling that you won't even reach in screen 5 / MSX2+ IMHO, so you're still stuck with screen 4's graphical capabilities.

Seeing the game as it looks now it's more of an achievement for an MSX1. Making it a truly remarkable MSX2 game will take a lot of additional effort, congratulations if you're going to pull that off.

If you use GFX9000, you don't have to bother about graphics. You can use them 1 on 1 from the Amiga version. Scrolling is no problem either on GFX9000.

What I mean is: There are TONS of MSX 1 (and 2) games, but NONE for GFX9000. Wouldn't it be nice to make that FIRST game for GFX9000? Turrican has great graphics, scrolling and music, so why settle for less if you can have the quality of the original (or even better)!!!

I rest my case (again) SantaSanta
