Now, it seems as if this re-programming does not use a time limit. Which I welcome. LOL!

I consider Turrican 2, a game completed many times with ease, the very best game of my Amiga years. The levels are in my view superbly designed and much fun in playing the game comes from learning all the secrets. If you know what to do, the timer is really no issue.

Yep, you are right, it is a fantastic game although the psygnosis games were also of high standard.

Haha, wow you guys are not big fans of Turrican! I loved it in the Amiga and DOS times (during my first year of college, I used to beat Turrican 2 once a week or so, just for fun, I knew every single corner of the map, hahaha). Indeed there was a few rough corners of the game, like the scroll centering, or the levels where you are a spaceship, which very rudimentary. And I would have also liked to have some more elements of adventure, like having to find switches, or keys, etc. But I still love it! Probably one of the things that makes this game so memorable is the soundtrack, which is amazing! I still listen to it to this day! Another thing that I found cool (as a kid), was going through the map finding optional "bosses", which were not needed for beating a level, but were cool graphically (like the giant "fist", which if I remember correctly was not on the direct path to the exit).

I am not sure if the comparison to Metroid is very accurate though, since Metroid is very much a "metroidvania", where you need to go back and forth in the map finding items, unlocking paths, etc. whereas Turrican is more arcade, like Thexder.
