A game from Mass Tael, I think, but it's not on the list of Generation-MSX or other sites. It had a similar menu (with the number keys) before starting, anyway.

It was a Pong/Breakout/Arkanoid etc. clone, only with multiple bats, and you could choose a game mode with the bats moving either diagonally, horizontally or vertically.

There was some water and I think you had to save your dog from drowning by opening/closing some sluices or something like that.

I would say FLIPPER SLIPPER

http://www.generation-msx.nl/msxdb/softwareinfo/297

It has water (which washes screen after GAME OVER) and a "dog" which you can set free by bouncing ball to it´s cage wall. Though I have always wondered if it´s a BEAR. But it looks dog-like too. :)

It has multiple bats, but doesn´t have diagonal or vertical movement. (or then there is too many years after the last time I played it....)

And it´s not Mass Tael´s but Spectravideo´s.

Thank you MäSäXi, that is the one!

So that's why I couldn't find it; I assumed it were from Mass Tael...

From the screenshot it indeed looks more like a bear.. humm.. maybe the type of critter you have to save will change over the levels?

But yes, that was it, not diagonal bats indeed, but strange curve-like things.

It was too long ago for me to remember, so I'll just order buy ask for my birthday enter the time machine get the game and see. Smile
Thx again.

That "critter" (bear) stays as a bear. Smile I have rescued bear few times and after that, guess what? Bear got caged once again! Shocked!

by the way, as searching for it from generation-msx, you cannot find it with "spectravideo" as publisher either.... oO

Because it´s listed "Spectravideo / ASCII"

Indeed, it stays a bear. I checked now, too.
Strange, in my memory, it was a german shepherd looking thing, hehe.

I have rescued bear few times and after that, guess what? Bear got caged once again!
...that stupid #$@%! Big smile

About the searching on generation-msx, maybe a good hint to update.

you can use the freeform search and fill in Spectravideo, that will find it.

Indeed, when I just fill in "spectravideo", it neatly lists this game amongst the others.
Works for both the Developer as well as the Publisher field, so works for me. Smile
