Yez, that sounds like a good idea!! Take those d*mn simms out of the... no just kidding, MSX computers doesn't use socket memory, they use soldered chips!!
So if you want to upgrade your memory you have to solder memory chips onto the motherboard.
Sorry to necro bump, but...has anyone gotten the save function to work without a floppy or cassette drive? I’m playing on a Carnivore 2. Is there a patch to save to SRAM or anything?

I'm not too familiar with games (anymore), but somehow Game Master (2) rings a bell. Not sure, so try/search info/debunk this.
AFAIK Metal Gear is tape saving only, but there are patched versions avaible which saves to Game Master and SRAM Utility. MG2 uses password and disk for saving.
With Game Master 2 you can also save to disk.
