A MSXDev edition only for tR + OPL4 + GFX9K? Well, it sounds nice, but please take a look at this thread:
Basically, people is saying that they prefer developing games for MSX1 because developing for MSX2 is too time consuming. Now tell me: who do you think that would even try to do something for this "MSX3" configuration? :)
And about the name, I think too that the term MSX3 should be avoided. I even doubt if a name for a given computer configuration is necessary at all, but anyway, I would suggest a name like "MSX Turbo Plus" or something like this.
"MSX3 is already available!", ehmyeah...
famous quote from Huey in another thread:
Luckily it is up to us individuals to decide what we make and for what platform/specs.
(almost all)MSX developers choose the path they want to go to and won't let some small crowd steer them into a development process they'll have less fun with. Also, remember the PassionMSX2 contest? It was a total failure, not just due to bad 'marketing'.

IMHO it would be really cool to have an high specification (HS for short) MSX contest...
Just porting/extending existing MSXdev'11 (and previous) projects to HS could bring excellent software titles with reduced effort.
It is important to limit expectations to prevent games from becoming huge projects that never get to an end (like X-Tazy).
Maybe "agile" development style should be used...
@ ARTRAG: just wondering how "total parody" would be in HS...
I think that nowadays I could do total parody on a plain msx2 with borders and parallax.
Anyway I need to devote my scarce spare time to projects where I can
count on help from someone else, or you will ever not see any project at all.
I am wondering if it possible to have a flash rom upon which yo can place (stack) the gfx9000 or moonsound cartridge (like the sonic & knuckles rom for the megadrive).
That could be interesting for the people who have only two cartridge slots!
Mayhaps there's more of a future for a newly produced and cost efficient slot expander.
ginna happens something better...
We had a lot of discussions on this forum about this. The problem with this is that you need a lot of skills to make something for this configuration.
Beside .. if there where people that have the skills.. an other problem is always the time to program this.. also i think if there is someone out there now days.. that have the skills and time.. it was already created now ..
If you realy want it ... you have todo it by yourself..
