Check out this video! I had never seen it before and must say I'm really impressed, even though it clearly is a work-in-progress.

Still, am I the only one who would like to see more turboR + GFX9000 demos and games? I think it is high time to start exploring the possibilities of 'highspec' MSXing!

We must be patient ...
We can also use this program with us to develop GBASIC to taste the quality and graphics of the V9990.
It is not difficult to make something beautiful to us.
Transfer your data charts with GBLOAD (GBASIC for MSX2/MSX2+) to load the graph in the screen of V9990! Tongue

bye bye

really nice, but I'd already be really happy with some new MSX2 stuff.

The BIG problem is, not everyone have turboR + GFX9000 (I have GT, but not GFX).

I must say I'm really impressed that snout is really impressed. oO
It's just a scrolltest program written in Basic, graphics were borrowed from a couple of old games.

@Gradius2: as turboR and GFX9000 can be emulated, that's hardly an argument anymore. As long as the software is being tested on the real hardware by the developers, it can only improve V9990 emulation on the long run. And more GFX9000 software might inspire Sunrise or anyone else to produce a new batch of GFX9000 (compatible) cards. Win-win!

@hap - I know the GFX are ripped, and already assumed it was Basic. And still it impresses me. Goes to show how little we saw of the GFX9000 to date.

Personally, I'd rather see nice GFX9000 software coded in Basic than no GFX9000 software at all. It appears to me there is an immense pressure on/from MSX developers that almost enforces other developers to squeeze every single bit of performance out of the hardware used or otherwise the end result is, according to some, not worthy by default.

I for one welcome (almost) every new software release on MSX and think that software should first and foremost either be useful or entertaining. Whether or not it is coded in Basic, C or ASM is of less importance to me. Whether or not it could be done on lower specs as well is insignificant. If this is the best a certain developer can do at the moment, and if he or she had fun whilst developing it than you won't hear me complaining Wink

Of course it's cool that the guy had fun coding it, it looks like he's trying to make a Stray Cat-ish game.
"very impressed" sounds almost insulting though =p

I didn't say I was -very- impressed, but that I'm -really- impressed Tongue

But seriously, there's nothing insulting about it. I like what I see - and can only hope that the developer feels encouraged to improve this further and/or create other things on a G9K.

I reckon you're going to create a tR/G9K demo or game that's going to make my jaws drop? Sweet!! Wink
