I can't find it on the internet, but I recall there was some combination with the numeral keys you could hold down in order to start off with a stronger ship.

Hold 0, 1, 5 at the same time and press space bar. You will get more power and lives I think.

There are some Sony games that use a little piece of hardware that is connected to joystick port 2 (Magic Key). You can emulate this hardware cutting a joystick cable (you need the connector and 1 cm of the cable). After this you must join some wires... I can't remember exactly the wiring but it is something like up and down wire joined together (because it is possible with a real joystick). With this you can access to secrets in a few Sony games... I think Gall Force is one of them, and Kikikaikai is another.

Try to make the key. I think you must join up/down wire together and left/right together too... but I am not sure. Sure there is somebody that knows the wiring. I remember that It is very easy to do.
