Oh, impressive work!

Where can we see this text in the game?
06h,"MEOW! " ("M"=CDh)
Quotes = consistent with other speak from animals.
One character exceeds.
#meow: yes, no problem
#weaklink: it's the dinosaur scene. Would it help if I send you an openMSX save state? Only problem is that the save state seems to point to an absolute path to the disk (anyway around that @Manuel?) (In this case it would be great if I could send save state + disk, and it would use the disk in the same location where the save state is loaded from.)
(+ I got some crap inserted in disk b, that's not needed in this case.)

No, it's okay.
Though I never use the feature, I realize now openMSX looks for a matching SHA1 sum in the (user) systemroms or software dir as well (though the manual only speaks of the systemroms dir).
I had a dir-as-disk in drive b however, so that's still an issue then (though could perhaps be resolved by adding a special file(name) in that dir (like an id), which can be looked for in software dir as well..)
The copy protection is easy to remove with one of these two methods:
Finally, the method by H.R.B. causes problems. When the player dies, the game freezes instead of starting again. My method seems to work well. Therefore, I want to replace the text "WELKOM BIJ "ZOO", CRACKED BY * H. R. B. * 10-1-1988 " of the Dutch version. What is the original text?
If nobody knows, can someone translate "Welcome to "Zoo", the first Radarsoft IconVenture!" in Duch?
I replaced the H. R. B. 's crack by the mine on all versions. I used the translation from g**gle. (WELKOM BIJ "ZOO", DE EERSTE RADARSOFT ICONVENTURE!) for the Dutch version.
Updated the file on my site as well: http://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/Zoo.html
It's much easier to play with the keyboard than the mouse on emulator !
I'll see if I can dig up my original disk (or was it cassette?) of the Dutch ZOO this week. Will give me an excuse to finally set up and test one of my MSXes again after shipping them from the Netherlands to Norway. Don't think I have a way to get a dump of the game to my PC though, as I no longer have a floppy drive, nor a working compact flash reader... (Not sure even if I still have a CF card for the CF reader for the MSX)
You can found it on ebay.
Zoo is on floppy disk. The games for MSX2 are rarely on tape.
PS: We can copy the files from the DSK to a directory on the CF/SD and run the game by executing ZOO.LDR (it can be renamed ZOO.BAS)
