Despite all the available internet resources nowadays, I cannot find the right way to go deeper into the abandoned mine. I got to the part of the bottom of the screen where a bridge moves from left <-> right, but I don't know how to get deeper into the mine. There are a lot of walkthrougs on the internet: but the ones for MSX are very limited, and for other consoles the game was quite different.

Alright, by coincidence I have found out... apparently it has nothing to do with the bottom of the screen, but with a cave entrance a bit to the low-left of the screen.

Thanks Hydragon! But that walkthrough is for Ys II, while I am playing Ys I....

Has anyone experience with the Boss in the Abandoned Mine?

Most bosses in Ys 1 can be defeated if you have enough strength. Just kill some more enemies, gain experience and more HP.

Yes, thanks! But the bosses still require some tactics.
By now I have finally managed to finalize the game which I started in the late 1980s :-)
If there's someone who needs help just let me know.

I would say: continue with Ys 2 - The Final Chapter & Ys 3 - Wanderers from Ys!! Awesome games, superb music and top notch gfx! I still love those games.

I also recommend the PC version remakes of Ys 1 & 2 (Eternal) and Ys - Oath of Felghana (Ys 3) where Felghana is really my favorite game of action rpg's. Also notice the music by Falcom's JDK Band on this one!!!
