The program I used long time ago was Synchro Copy:
It features:
- A fancy GUI!
- Copy of extra tracks 80 to 82.
- Erase (unformat) upper side sectors when copying single-sided disks.
- Nibble mode to copy protected disks.
- Super-fast speed.
- Use of all available memory.
It was really a great tool! I found no trace of it on the net, but still had it on a real floppy. If I remember well the coder was a french guy (a train driver !), named Eric or something...
Be sure to activate the "Nibble" mode (F6 key) to make copies of protected disks.
There's also a ROM dump program included, with a "virtual MSX" interface!
I don't think this tool was commercial (although there's a "Copyright E.I soft 1993" displayed). The intro with greetings makes me think it was free to copy. Let me or the admins know if that's not the case.
Anyway, you can grab it here: Synchro Copy 4.0
Thankx again for all response!
There is a xcopy version for msx also. Next to that I use fastcopy. But still the simple basic program showed earlier in this topic bij lars, the 'noise' copyier where this forum thread is about, is one of the best copy programs to my opinion.
Synchro Copy I don't know the program. Let's try it. thank you for sharing!
In Brazil there were two programs able to copy any copy protected MSX game. And there were some heavily protected here, since those ports had direct access to the FDC. The disk version of Nemesis (Microsol) was one of those heavily copy protected games.
Those are the programs. But they require a interface that follows the Microsol de facto standard.
- Chave Mestra
- Top Pirate II
Chave Mestra required an awful number of disk changes. But was able to copy any MSX game. Top Pirate II was almost as capable, but it supported 256KB MegaRAMs. This reduced a lot the number of disk swaps.
What was the name of the disk copy program that checkmark made? I got it when I bought one of their 512 KB memory mappers so you could copy a disk in one go, and it also produced "Noise" since it also used the VRAM.
I liked using BASS copy, because of the audio sample...
Quickly switched to FORMULA though when that came out...
Do you have this program already? All the links are broken! Thanks!

Hello, everyone!
Do you know COPYCAT?
http://sakuramail.net/fswold/tool_d.html#copycat
It can use FDC, so it will be able to copy FD with some protection.
