disk manager read image problem

hi,i found some of the msx dsk images can't be recognized for disk manager,it said it is not a valid ms(x) dos floppy image.And the backup copy's FAT does not match,update backup to original FAT.What should i do?

That problem is caused by the use of non standard and propietary format (boot-disk games aka "booter"), most companies used not standard formats for their games in order to avoid piracy and unauthorized debug, it´s absolutely normal.

Disk Manager only supports normal disk formats

If you dump those dsk you will see that cannot be read on real msx or PC but if you boot from those disks the game will boot up without problems

thanks,but what if i want to explore files from those disks?any program can read that types of dsk images?

The 'files' are hidden on sectors on these disks when you can't see them (empty window in Disk Manager). So, you need an hexadecimal editor to see the content and eventually extract some parts.

Note: when you have the FAT message, generally you can see the files, but you need to be careful, and extract them with only Disk Manager can fail.

i am quite confused about the FAT section....any other things can extract them normally?
