I've had time to play a LOT of MSX1 games in the last year and wondered which ones you guys keep going back to, time after time?

I was wondering more about MSX1 games really.....

I personally think the MSX version of Hero is an absolute classic! It's the one I always seem to go back to. It's just sooooo addictive Cool
I've played this on almost every other platform, and this is the definitive version (no question). It's the Bogs Dollocks Wink

Which game do you all keep going back to play?? Maybe it's one I haven't tried yet Tongue

My little brother and I tend to play Eggerland Mystery a lot, when we're done having brotherly wars with Puyo Puyo. Smile We know how to beat every round in the game, but always forget to write down the "Special Words" when playing it through, so we've never seen the ending (if there is one) so far. But I think it's an excellent game.

I agree by the way - the MSX version of H.E.R.O. is the best. I play it at least once a year.

Yes, more detailed and colorful than c64 or speccy version.....
The best 8 bit version.

I really like Eggerland as well, I grew up with MSX1 and didn't have any of the bigger (megarom) games. From the top of my head, my favourites were Eggerland, Zanac, Goonies, Auf Wiedersehen Monty, Jet Set Willy 2. I have a soft spot for the old Konamis too, stuff like Magical Tree or Athletic Land, we'd call those kind of games minigames by now.

As much I as I did appreciate the technical brilliance of some of Konami's megaroms, the games I enjoyed and played the most on MSX 1 were much simpler games:

Konami PingPong, Konami Tennis, Konami Billard, Football were a lot of fun and offered raw immediate fun. So was Magical tree.
Not from Konami but great to play: Beamrider (would deserve a modern port) and Galaga.

Favourite MSX1 games for me are the very first ones I adored at my childhood. I can't really decide between Maze of Galious, Nemesis 1, Knightmare, Goonies, Zanac, Elite, Auf Wiedersehen Monty. So much great games!

Btw. I just got today Zanac and Zanac Ex. I'm happy now, these seems to be very hard to get games! Thanks a lot onetunafish! Smile

fav. MSX1 game?

hmm.. I think F1 Spirit.

oh, and contrary to what my avatar might indicate, I don't think 3D Special is very good at all, I just like the intro.
