My project is now sufficiently advanced to show you something...
What is the FMV Game System ?
- It is a way to play on MSX2 with Laserdisc games Dump.
You probably known already the MSX PX7 by Palcom with it's attached laserdisc player ?
It's a very rare MSX, only available in Japan for japanese hardware...
There is also some game on VHD Disc system... even more rare than Laserdisc !
What I want to do, is a way to play those games and/or Arcade LAserdizsc games without the laserdisc player, or without the VHD player...
A lot of laserdisc games are already dump.
I manage to play with theses dumps on my MSX2 Sony HBG900 which have the superimpose feature.
- I programmed a PC video Replayer, which is remotely command by the MSX2 thru a RS232 interface.
- Also, I made the MSX BASIC Program that control the Player and play the game on the MSX2 system
- And I re-edit the original video dump, to split it in multiple files, and arrange pauses where i need to have.
The MSX is commanding the Video Replayer, and make the superimpose function over the video...
Please take a look to this video

Actually, what is need to use this system is :
- 1 MSX2 with Superimpose feature (Sony HBG90 or Philips NMS8280)
- 1 MSX RS232 Interface (already include in the HBG900)
- 1 PC with RS232 connector
- and some cables...
I think result is quit good already, but I have to evolve to something more simple to use... oO :)
The first game i will make will be TIME GAL, as yuou see on the video.
Next will be ROAD BLASTER, and COBRA COMMAND...
