Okay (fair enough of course Wink)

Though if John is serious about rearranging the soundtrack to OPLL, I'd like to encourage anyone who thinks he/she can pull off implementing it (without sacrificing performance, or perhaps even improving it, like the current patch) to step in/forward Wink

(In fact, I somewhat suspect John went ahead and started a Herzog FM rearrangement already? Tongue Wink)

What do you need for the translation, just someone who can translate the JP to EN? Can you extract/provide the JP texts? (Asking in advance, can't help you myself with that Wink)

I don't want to be a party pooper, but it doesn't feel more fluid or fast to me.

Putting the subjective aspect aside, I tried a more tangible measure: I timed how long it took for my player cross the entire field from bottom to top in the 1st stage, and it took exactly the same time with or without the patch: ~20.60s in NTSC.

The main performance bottleneck of this game is not the VDP speed. It's very CPU intensive. Just run the original with the R800 enabled on an MSX Turbo-R, and you'll see that the game gets very fluid and with only some small slowdowns in very crowded areas.

I agree the improvement is not spectacular. I did that this weekend and I only improved what was obvious.

I already extracted the JP texts from the introduction and translated a few texts. I need guys who can correct my (bad) English and I need screenshot of missing screens with Japanese texts (probably at the end of the game).

@gdx: Looks like the ending is only one screen with texts.

Not yet. Smile There are some songs in the soundtrack I'd really like to tackle, though. But the entire thing ofcourse only if it has any use.

By the way, @ren and others, are people familiar with the Herzog Zwei soundtrack on Sega 16-bit?

New version a bit faster! Now works on external MSX2 upgrades (Use MA-20 version for it).
