VERY impressive indeed! I hope the author(s) contact the openMSX team to discuss the patch they apply (why, what patch, etc.), so we can improve emulation with it, hopefully.

Very good and impressive themo, I think we have a lot of tile precalculation here.

Hi everyone!

@Prodatron: I'm glad you were the first guy to post the news here, since we share (cpc) roots.
@Lord_Zett: have you ever played "Trailblazer" game?
@Manuel: I'll start a new thread for patches (w/ source).
3 kinds of patches are automatically applied:

  • sync openmsx/msx1/msx2
  • patch "2 clocks"
  • patch "slowdown" on turboR or so

Thanks you guys for your nice comments.

Not my kind of coding. Wink
Let's have closer look at the 3D scene as an example.
Rough screen could be this one:

Each colum is/has a "color", as in "the 32 colors for 32*8 chars in screen mode 1".
Then, some precise timing on code changes VDP R#3 at given scanlines,
so that all colors are changed at once;
seen result is a textured applied on the 3d path.
Got it?

Good stuff! Yet to see it on a real MSX1, as it doesn't want to work on a V-20 with MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD 512k (DOS2). Toshiba HX-10 and Nowind no luck either, according to Yzi.

@Overflow, it's really cool to see you here, I didn't recognize your other posts end of last year. So probably it's too late to say "Welcome to the fantastic world of MSX!" - and as usually you placed a hit again for the Z80! Running Naked in a Field of Flowers
