Hi Manuel,
I am very happy to report that after testing the openmsx-0.14.0-293 build as you sugested, the opl4 emulation has improved a lot and the long natural fade effect of some instruments is working correctly with this build!

Great work!
Congratulations to the team!

You mean other opl4 issues?
I will check in the near future, I just checked the sound fades.

Regarding non-opl4 issues, the v9990 blitter issue remains the same.

PLAYABLE DEMO

You can download a playable demo, with the box art and manual from this link:

http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=53121941076909248742

There is the rom version (For MFR, Carnivore2, etc) and the SD/1CHIP/zemmix/HDD/mass storage device version.

Reduced instructions:

The controls:

Space or button 1 of the joystick to shoot. When you have an enemy nearby, the protagonist will make a melee attack. You can force the melee attack voluntarily by pressing the cursor up.

"M" or button 2 of the joystick to jump. If you keep the up direction pressed and jump, the protagonist will make a very high jump that will allow you to climb to very high places and thus dodge the enemies.

When you are on top of the screen, keep the direction down and do not do anything for 2 seconds and the scroll will go down to see what is below (very important not to blindly jump down to certain death).

If you are up on any platform, duck and press jump to go down.

Items:

The bottles or batteries recover Shield, which serves as the character’s life. If the shield gauge reaches zero, you will lose a life.

The "E" replenishes the the energy rifle. It works as the ammunition.

Items with a red ball are a "Power Up" that triples the power of the bullets and the melee attacks. But be careful, if you suffer an impact, you will lose the power up.

Enemies:

Each enemy has its pattern and its characteristics.
Some shoot high and you can dodge their shots by dodging, just like the soldiers. With others you must jump their projectiles.

The final bosses are modular, built by independent parts, and have weak points that if you discover, you can finish with them in a matter of seconds.

The game:

The game has 2 different endings, and also 2 permanently unlockable achievements.
Even if you finish it, you have plenty of replayability ahead...

How to flash the rom:
If you use megaflashrom scc + sd, from DOS type:
opfxsd loeeng.rom / k5 / u

And when you finish flashing do a reset.

To use the game with openmsx in case you want to listen to it in opl4 and you do not have it (instructions using catapult):
Select the turbo emulation R in "MSX type".
In the extensions, select video9000 (or v9000), opl4 and slotexpander.

In the cartridge slots, cartridge A, select the rom of the game for openmsx.

Click on Start to start the emulation.
The MSX emulation will begin.
You will see a selection menu of sound chips in the MSX emulation window. Select opl4.

Go to the Catapult window.
Go to the Video Controls tab.
After that, in the RENDER menu in Catapult, select SDLGL -PP so that the scroll is less bad in openmsx.

How to configure it to be seen as CRT (Optional, recommended):
In Scaler, select 2, or 3 or 4.
And select SaI as Scaling method.
In "Monitor Simulation Controls":
Set the Scannline value to 19
The Blur at 81
the GLOW in 0
the gamma in 1.0

And that's it, now you're ready to play the game as if you were playing in a real msx with CRT.

TO emulate a real monitor I would not recommend to use "SaI", but to use "simple". "SaI" isn't even available with the SDLGL-PP renderer, so in practice this means you get 'simple' anyway, but just to be clear Smile Note that SDLGL-PP is default as of openMSX 0.14.0.

And now, let me try that demo version Smile

Plays pretty great on turboR with OPL4, but on MSX2 there are some glitches. But I think you already wrote about that somewhere (OPL4 on MSX2 not recommended).

The glitches occur only on openmsx. It works fine on real msx2, zemmix, onechip...
MSX2 and opl4 together can suffer small slow downs at times.
