Hi,

I'm trying to use Internestor Lite in my NMS 8255 loaded with a Sunrise IDE from Maxiol and an Obsonet 2. I'cant run it because mi MSX hasn't enough memory. All memory seems to be busy:

I get to free some KBs unloading fat16.com from memory, but I still can't run INL:

How I can free more memory? What is using that memory?

Memory in DOS is always reserved in 16KB blocks. The OS it self needs 32KB of RAM and 64KB of RAM is always used by TPA, so in theory you could have maximum of 32KB of free RAM in 128KB system. Try older version of COMMAND2.COM... IIRC v2.4x versions reserve extra 16KB for aliases, history and such.

And maybe the FAT16 patch uses 16K as well?

Mmmm, maybe I must upgrade my MSX up to 512 KB :-D

Thanks!

Use Nextor that has built-in FAT16 support it only takes a bit more of space than DOS2.

I have to lear how to flash next into Sunrise IDE, isn't it?

But with fat16 unloaded and 16 free KB, INL doesn't load anyway. How many men needs INL?

InterNestor Lite requires 32K of free mapped RAM. A system with MSX-DOS 2 and 128K RAM boots with exactly these 32K free, so there's indeed something eating your memory; as Nyyrikki said, it might be COMMAND 2.4x. So your options are:

1. Use COMMAND 2.20 or 2.3x instead
2. Boot in MSX-DOS 1 mode
3. Upgrade your computer to have more memory (an external mapper is fine)

As for flashing Nextor in Sunrise IDE, you need to IDEFL128.COM tool and the Nextor kernel and tools from my page: https://www.konamiman.com

I'm using command 2.20. Yesterday I got 16 free KB with fat16 loaded. After unload fat16, there's 16KB of free memory. It's weird. Memory problem?

Done and worked!. But when I run snmp computer hangs up. Again, memory problem?

I've ordered some IC to upgrade my 8255 up to 512K internally. I'll use the new memory ICs to check if there is some memory problem.
