ROM2MMM: a Rom loader for Musical Memory Mapper cartridge

Hi,

I programmed a Rom loader for Musical Memory Mapper cartridge that supports the majority of MSX ROM (all?) of 8 to 48KB without any patch.

ROM2MMM is a MSX-DOS 1/2 command. It is very easy to use and I think it works on any MSX with a disk drive and the Musical Memory Mapper.

What purpose has this loader? to use the SN76489A instead the internal PSG?

Why I should prefer to use the SN76489A instead the internal PSG in MSX games?

No, it's just a ordinary MSX ROM loader. I hope to add support for 64KB ROM in the next step.

However, if a Rom accesses to the SN76489AN via the port #3Fh, the sound will work.

Update! (the final?)

ROM2MMM.COM can now launch 64KB Roms (without Rom Mapper).

Some examples of 64Ko Rom without Rom Mapper:

- Bomb Jack MSX2 (Kralizec)
- Break In (Jaleco)
- Dawn Patrol (Ponyca)
- Flight Deck II (Ponyca)
- Knight Lore MSX2 Remake
- Uridium (The Repro Factory)
- etc...

There are also some Arab Roms but most work only on an Arabic MSX.

Update again!

rom2mmm_v08.zip

Added support for 16k Roms placed on bank 0C000h~0FFFFh (rare).
Now a message is displayed if the 64K ROM that attempts to launch is mapped.

Would be great to have this cartridge emulated in openMSX to do some development testing on the SN PSG.

But that probably won't happen

Knight Lore MSX2 is only 48KB ROM.

That's the expected response If I could, I would.
I'll just stick with blueMSX as the SN is emulated there for my project.
