Hi, does anyone have these magazines as DSK file? I can only find DMK (whilst DSK of vol. 0 and 3 are available). Maybe they have not been 'converted' yet?

Are you sure there is no copy protection? This is probably the reason why it's dumped with .DMK.

If there is no protection, just follow this old manual from Manuel:

Quote:

If the DMK does not contain any copy protection, you can also convert it with openMSX:

1. insert DMK image in MSX with disk drive, drive A
2. open the console (F10)
3. type: diskanipulator savedsk diska /path/to/my.dsk

If this gives an error about sector not found, the DMK image cannot be converted to DSK without losing some content (i.e. it will break the software on it, like a copy protection trigger).

I am pretty sure there is a protection on some of those, possibly 1. By the way Saurus Lunch goes up to at least 6.

I think there is protection indeed (although there is no error in openMSX when savedsk is used), but I think 1 and 3 would have had it as well. I looked into it and they all load a sector from disk in the autoexec.bas. The sector is an alternative boot sector (with Quinpl appearance). The boot sector is then executed and on the DMK it continues but on converted DSK it does not. On Vol. 0 it also continues (so I assume protection was removed).

Actually if you copy the alternative boot sector over the original boot sector the magazines boot much faster, skipping the autoexec.bas and loading of the second boot sector.

Than we can add 5 and 6 to undumped list.
