Since i have my GR8NET i'm using SofaRun more and more One thing that's hard, is to give all games a proper filename with max 8 chars. I know I can put the long file names in a Zip file, but thats harder to maintain. So it would be nice if SofaRun had support for descript.ion files like ddir.com does in a single column view (like viewing zip files)

hi, has anyone tried EP as a replacement of sofarun internal disk loader? I can not get it to work properly, EP.COM runs, but instead of launching the disk, command help is displayed (as if some parameter was wrong) and returns to sofarun. I have the EP in the sofarun folder along with the rest of the tools and the path pointing to this folder.

This is the change I made to SR.INI:

DSK=%sEP.COM %f /B /D /R

I've tried other commands instead of EP and they work perfectly. Any idea?

Hi Louthrax,

First of all, I'm a huge fan of your job.

I'm facing a problem with my .ZIP file that contains only .CAS files. When I try to run any .CAS file in my .ZIP file, I'm getting this error:

*** Unable to open

What I'm doing wrong?

I am not sure if this is still needed, but Nextor does work on MSX1 with C2, this because the C2 also has the 1MB RAM expansion.

one feature i miss in Sofarun is the ability to launch multiple disk games files on the fly with multiple selections of maybe an option in the disk menu ("add to multi-disk")
i can do that easily with sofarunit (SRI ALESTE2A.DSK ALESTE2B.DSK ALESTE2C.DSK) but i'm a lazy penguin...
and one step more : multiple file selections in a zip file would be awesome

What you have to do is create a single file from the 3 separate files: if you are on Windows you can use:

COPY /B ALESTE2A.DSK + ALESTE2B.DSK + ALESTE2C.DSK ALESTE2.DSK

The aleste2.dsk file will be 3x720kB and if you select this in SofaRun it will split the file over 3 disks for sofarunit!

I forgot about this post, however, I went to the Retro Computer Museum here in Leicester UK, I tried the C2, it worked without issues. It booted in Nextor, and Sofarun ran without any issues. I know the C2 is a fantastic piece of hardware, but MSX2 games cannot be made to work on MSX1!
