Colleagues could You confirm - if I have DSK (conacatenated) original dumps running from HDD (SunRise) with SD Snatcher cart inserted into the slot (1 or 2) they should work right out of SofaRun without running any additional program and with default options in SofaRun.

Louthrax: a small bug report.

Using SofaRun 3.2 with an MFR SCC+SD, I just attempted to flash and play the recent Zanac-Ex patched ROM with FM support. This ROM works fine when flashed with opfxsd, but when launched with SofaRun it basically hangs at the text intro screen that does audio device detection and the like.

I did notice that when flashing with opfxsd, there were more "dots" than when flashing with SofaRun. So the issue might be ROM type (and size?) detection.

Yes, I noticed the problem when that great Zanac-Ex patch was released. The root cause is that SofaRun launches ROMs with the current disk driver enabled by default (that allows to save games on disk your SD card for ROMs that do support it). That consequently reduces the memory available, and causes a crash.

Just enable the "No disk driver" in SofaRun settings for that game (or add /X to your SofaROM command line).

The dots displayed by SofaROM and OPFXSD at flash time do not have the same value (8KB or 16KB...).

The Zanac ROM patch can probably be fixed by setting the stack pointer explicitely at a higher location at boot time, I'll try to check that with Victor.

"No disk driver" woks great, thanks. I'll need to keep that option in mind when something doesn't work.

Hi Igor,

Yes, that should work.

Maybe there's a problem with your images. Could you try the following:

  • Download this zip file and copy it on a floppy disk.
  • Unzip this file on your HD using SofaUnzip (suz e sdsdisk1.zip).
  • You should have a 720KB file named sdsdisk1.dsk on your HD (check the file size with dir).
  • Launch the sdsdisk1.dsk on your HD with SofaRunIt (sri sdsdisk1.dsk).

I also cleaned with isoprophyle the edge connector of MSX, Sunrise and carts. HDD disk was checked with Victoria and chkdsk. No issues reported. But I cannot play Snatchers anyway

Darn, I made a mistake and put the 2nd disk of the game in the zip... At least it proves that SofaRunIt is booting stuff correctly Tongue Will put the right version online in a few minutes....

Ok, Igor, can you try with this one (same procedure as before) ?

You'll have to choose witch SCC mode to use at boot time (SCC or SCC+), and also which SCC slot to use. Play with these settings to see if it fixes something (specially the "Slot" setting).

Louthrax and Manuel, Thanks a lot for troubleshooting. I GOT THE REAL THING NOWSmile))) Sound and RGB picture is really amazing.

For the guys, who just started tinkering with MSX. CHECK YOUR DUMPS!!!!!
I had different dumps from Internet, even I had dumps from real disks which I expected to be perfect - NO WAY. They've been overwritten.

I spent a lot of time on the troubleshooting but didn't come to basic things - correct dumps.

SofaRun with 8Bitdo and JoySNES - is must have! Period.Especially for some kinds of lazy penguins Smile like me. I would like to play through OSSC on the huge screen in the same time laying on my sofa.
