Hello friends. Long time no see. Can anyone confirm my version of the Super Bros World 1 is running on real MSX? I just tried ROM on OCM because I have not access to my MSX/2 floppy right now and Megaflash is broken. It work on OCM but can someone try to flash it with Megaflash cart?

Here is link:

Thanks :)

Both ASCII8 and ASCII16 versions work in blueMSX (for the ASCII8 version, manual selection of the mapper is required). The original version does not work, it's probably an unsupported mapper.

I guess the ASCII8 and ASCII16 versions should work on real hardware, but it must of course be checked.

Yes. Emulation is confirmed. OCM confirmed. But real hardware access I do not have now for this moment, so please if someone can try with their real either write a floppy or Megaflashrom or Floppy emulator just to see if working of real hardware. Smile Thank you!

I tested the ASCII8 version on real FS-A1ST and a real MSX1 16K with a MegaFlashRom MAB 8k. It works on both. Thanks.

Hi GDX. Long time no see! (2 years?) Thanks for letting me know. Then feel free everyone to play the game! (is not good game haha). Also can someone host the file for future preservation purpose? Thanks Question

Hi Bioman, I made a patch to change the mapper to SCC type.

The mapper is compatible with mappers Zemina 8K and Game Master 2. It seems works too with Generic8 mapper.

In blueMSX, it works indeed with the Konami Generic mapper.

Just for info:
Generic8 in openMSX = Konami Generic in blueMSX
Generic16 in openMSX = MSXDOS 2 in blueMSX (blueMSX does not have a distinct mapper for the 'real' Japanese MSXDOS 2 with extra RAM)

Is there an unmodified dump of Super Bros World 1 then? Ah, it's in that archive...

Does someone know the details of the mapper? Is it indeed Zemina8k?
In openMSX it is auto-detected as Konami and it works with that. But I don't know what the real mapper is.

Strange by the way... check out that game screenshot on Generation MSX. It has slightly different graphics there than in this ROM.

Note the color of the pipe, the flower in front of the pipe and the color of the box on the top right of the pipe.

Manuel: It should be same mapper as Super Bioman etc so Zemina 8k I suppose. Yes, or no. It is actually change palette of colour each time you lose or start new game. I know not if that is following a pattern or not, but is like that. Smile Same as Super Bioman series. Also enemies and everything mostly are same, and occurance of Flower/Mushroom is totally random and sometime occuring like "suitcase" can drop on your head instead of Flower/Mushroom, then you directly lose a life haha. This game I think is not good. It could be good if the ghost were not so intense, but mostly gameplay = avoid the ghost.
